LIVE From Nashville: AG Annual Conference Celebrates Unprecedented Growth

AlphaGraphics franchise owners from all over the country converged on Nashville, Tennessee, earlier this month for the company’s annual conference. Owners and corporate staff look forward to the conference every year – not only for the strategy sessions and professional development opportunities, but for the camaraderie.

This year was particularly exciting, as AlphaGraphics President Art Coley announced that AG had signed an unprecedented 41 franchise agreements in 21 states in the fiscal year ending June 30. This unit growth is more than double our fiscal year 2012 signings, which we attribute to the successful implementation of the strategy to evolve from a printer to a trusted marketing communications partner serving small businesses.

“Our AlphaGraphics franchisees are reaping the rewards of providing small businesses not only printing services, but strategic marketing solutions,” Coley said. “This success is attracting entrepreneurs across the country to join AlphaGraphics and several of our existing franchisees to expand their territories. Both are signs of a healthy business opportunity.”

The Power of the AlphaGraphics Network: A Negative Comment Prompts a Positive Solution

We talk a lot about the AlphaGraphics Network – the camaraderie, the support and the dedication to quality and customer satisfaction.

Following is a powerful recent example of the way the Network turned an international customer who vented her frustration on social media into a happy customer who sang AG’s praises.

Marina Watts is a teacher and AlphaGraphics customer from Brazil. In preparation for a big education conference in St. Louis, Mo., she was working with an AG center in Rio de Janiero on marketing collateral. Unfortunately, Marina had a negative experience and left this comment on the AlphaGraphics corporate Facebook page:

We immediately reached out to Marina to better understand the situation. After a few messages, we found out that Marina was late in giving the project details to the AG center in Rio de Janiero and was frustrated that her late delivery impacted the production of the brochures. We suggested having her job produced by an AG center in St. Louis, and delivered directly to her at the conference. Not only would it solve the problem, but it would save money on shipping costs. Marina was ecstatic.

AlphaGraphics was able to produce the brochures – even rush printing some extra business cards – and delivered everything all before the conference began. Needless to say, Marina was overwhelmed with the amount of attention her order received and left several very positive appraisals like this one:

That’s the power of the AG Network. And while this job was a fairly small one and the Brazil-based client will likely never work with AG in St. Louis on a regular basis, she was treated with the same care and attention that the regular customers receive.

“It has been our privilege to help,” said Patrick Donnelly, the sales representative who took care of Marina. “Customer service is why we got into the business in the first place.”
