Printing Impressions Magazine: AlphaGraphics Continues to Redefine the Franchisee

The May 2016 issue of Printing Impressions magazine, America’s most influential and widely read resource for the printing industry, includes a cover feature on AlphaGraphics titled “Paving Paths to Success.”

The piece, which highlights the ways in which AlphaGraphics “continues to redefine the Screen Shot 2016-05-23 at 4.59.09 PMfranchisee,” is an in-depth exploration of the AlphaGraphics opportunity through the perspective of the company’s leadership team: the qualities they look for in successful Franchisees, the pathways that exist for corporate executives and independent business owners looking to take the next entrepreneurial step, and the investments they’ve made in technology and other tools that help everyone win.

AlphaGraphics Business Builder Program Matching Qualified Buyers with Established Businesses

Steven Service in Rochester, New York had a successful career as a hardware and software developer with the Xerox Corporation before purchasing an AlphaGraphics Business Center three years ago. He’s been focused ever since on growing his business, including through acquisition.

Steven approached one local printer in 2014, introducing her to AlphaGraphics and starting a conversation that recently led to him buying that business and folding it into his existing operations.

“She was running a great business serving several verticals, including government and food service. I am now integrating that into my book of business and converting it to AlphaGraphics. We talked a lot and she recognized the potential, and now we’re both pleased with the outcome.”

Specialized SBA Lender Attends AlphaGraphics Discovery Day, Working with Franchise Candidates to Secure Funding

Each month, franchise candidates gather at the AlphaGraphics headquarters in Salt Lake City for a Brad Hunningsthree-day immersion that covers every aspect of the brand, our vision, our leadership and the day-to-day life of an AlphaGraphics Franchisee. It’s an open and honest evaluation for both parties, and a chance to explore the risks and challenges along with the resources and opportunities that can make AlphaGraphics business ownership so rewarding.

Last month’s AlphaGraphics Discovery Day event included a special guest who brought deep expertise on a top-of-mind subject: funding options available to new Franchisees.Brad Hunnings, SBA Business Development Officerwith Wells Fargo Bank based in Georgia, specializes in U.S. Small Business Association lending. As a dedicated AlphaGraphics funding resource, Hunnings is available to work with qualified candidates across the country.

“My role is to work directly with AlphaGraphics on SBA lending opportunities for franchise candidates, andwe bring a lot of expertise in this space,” Hunnings said. “AlphaGraphics pre-qualifies candidates to determine their path, whether it’s acquiring an existing AlphaGraphics location, converting an independent business or launching a new Business Center. Then we work to make the process simple and straightforward from a packaging, underwriting, closing and funding standpoint.”

Hunnings said he’s appreciated the opportunity to work with AlphaGraphics Franchise candidates, including numerous candidates who bring strong business experience to the table.

“In my experience, the AlphaGraphics vetting process has been excellent. I’ve worked with candidates who are generally very prepared financially and professionally, and that makes the process even smoother,” he said.

Hunnings says the turnaround time on a lending decision is typically five to 10 business days from submission of a complete loan package, and that the underwriting process has been streamlined to allow a candidate to get to closing as quickly as possible.
